‘Tis the Season to Drive Safely
As the holiday season grows closer to us, many people are attending holiday events and parties. When driving home from a holiday occasion, be sure to drive safely to avoid an accident. Barnes & Cohen encourages our community to remain safe to avoid auto accidents this holiday season.
Tips to ensure we all remain safe this holiday season:
Never drive impaired. If you’re attending an event, celebrate responsibly. Plan ahead and find a safe way home such as carpooling or ordering a ride service. Impaired driving is associated to a larger risk of being involved in an auto accident.
Check your tires. Check your tire pressure regularly but especially right before a long trip.
Buckle up! Safety is a priority when driving. Your seat belt is your vehicle’s most important safety feature. All drivers and passengers under the age of 18 are required to wear seat belts.
Observe and obey all speed limits. Speed limits change often depending on the area you are traveling. According to the FLHSM, the speed limit in Florida will never be over 70mph. Most accidents are related to speeding incidents.
Register or update your Emergency Contact Information. ECI is a secure system allowing law enforcement to contact family or friends in an emergency situation. Most cell phones also have emergency contact information installed in their settings to insert information into.
