Fernandina Beach Florida- Bicycle Accident Injures a Teen. Mason Wright admitted to police that he fell asleep while he was driving. According to the Florida Highway Patrol Mason Wright was driving without a license when he fell asleep. His vehicle drifted into traffic when he dozed off Wright woke up when he struck a 13-year-old in the crosswalk. The Bicycle Accident occurred on First Coast Highway in Fernandina Beach, Monday afternoon. The teen is suffering with serious injuries. The driver that hit the young teen is a repeat offender.
Mason Wright was arrested and charged with driving without a license and causing serious injuries with a vehicle. According to the arrest report Wright’s driver’s license has been suspended twice and has been suspended since November 8,2021. One of the suspensions was the result of failure to appear in court. The other suspension was a failure to pay a traffic fine.
