Hit-and-Run Kills Driver

Jacksonville, Florida a Hit-and-Run Kills Driver. An Auto crash has claimed the life of one and left another injured as the driver attempted to leave the scene.

A rear-end accident that resulted in damaged vehicles, but no injuries turned deadly when one of the drivers sped away attempting to leave the scene. A woman driving a Hyundai Sonata on Lane Avenue when she rear-ended a Chevy Malibu. No injuries were reported in that crash. The woman driving the Hyundai  Sonata attempted to leave the scene at a high rate of speed, she lost control and slammed into a Toyota Corolla at the intersection of Lane Avenue and Mystic Review Drive. The woman driving the Hyundai was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman driving the Corolla was taken to the hospital. She was reported to have minor injuries.

The driver of the Chevy Malibu left the scene. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating the Auto Crash and they are looking for the driver of the Chevy Malibu. The driver is required by law to remain at the scene.

The Auto Accident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on Lane Avenue near Hyde Grove Avenue on Saturday January 28th.

According to Florida Law “ The driver of any vehicle involved in a crash resulting only in damage to a vehicle or other property which is driven or attended by any person shall immediately stop such vehicle at the scene of such crash or as close thereto as possible, and shall forthwith return to, and in every event shall remain at, the scene of the crash until he or she has fulfilled the requirements of s. 316.062.”
