Head-on Auto Accident chances of serious Injuries are reduced when the impact overlap is smaller.

Head-on Auto Accidents in most cases leave seriously injured victims. It stands to reason that if the vehicle overlap is smaller in a head-on collision the risk of serious injury is reduced. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration studied injuries in head-on frontal auto crashes. Data as expected showed that the level of serious injuries to the head, chest, spine, hips and pelvis area were significantly higher if the crash was considered a large overlap. A large overlap head-on auto collision resulted in serious head injuries in 48% of the head-on auto accidents researched compared with 27% of victims receiving serious head injuries in a small vehicle crash overlap.

Head-on Auto Accident Risk can be reduced. Never Drive Distracted.

The Jacksonville Head-on Auto Accident early Saturday Morning could have been prevented if the Texas man had not entered I-295 driving in the wrong direction. Serious Auto Accidents have increased along with the increase of Distracted driving. Distracted driving includes cellphone usage, drowsy driving, drunk driving, driving under the influence of drugs both prescription and illegal drugs. Distracted driving includes a teen driver preoccupied with friends or even a mother focusing on her toddler in the backseat.
