Safe Trick or Treating
Jacksonville Businesses, churches and neighborhoods have put together Safe Halloween events. Take a look in your neighborhood. If you plan to Trick or Treat door to door with your children, have fun and Be Safe!
- Make sure you choose a safe costume- mask should not obscure vision, make sure your child is easy to see at night – add reflective tape to dark or hard to see costumes.
- A responsible adult should always be plainly in view and close to children Trick or Treating.
- Never approach homes with lights off- Registered Sex Offenders are required by law to keep their outdoor lights off on Halloween.
- Carry a Flashlight
- Check ALL treats before children are allowed to eat them
- BE AWARE OF ILLEGAL DRUGS THAT ARE DESIGNED TO LOOK LIKE CHILDREN’S CANDY AND TREATS
- WARN YOUR TEENS- Some Illegal drugs Marijuana, Ecstasy, Meth and even Heroin are now sometimes disguised as candy, cookies, pop tarts and even juice.
